Port Blair, March 28: PBMC supplies drinking water to municipal areas. Due to poor monsoon and excessive heat there is acute shortage of water supply from PWD to PBMC. Rains are not expected any time soon. Water is a precious natural resource and cannot be wasted. People have been advised to use water carefully and avoid any type of wastage of water. Overflow of storage tanks should be avoided at all costs.

Port Blair, March 28: The last date for fresh admission and re-registration for January 2023 cycle for all Programmes (except certificate and Semester based Programmes both for Online and ODL mode) has been extended till 31st March 2023. Port Blair, March 27: Ration Rasheed Foundation organized an awareness programme at Haddo for empowerment of women groups and also make them self-reliant with the support of NABARD and Unnati. On the occasion Shri. C. Mohammed, President Unnati highlighted about SHG, JLG and SHG Federation for their upliftment economically. 

Shri. Rasheed, founder of the Ration Rasheed Foundation thanked Unnati for its participation with the Foundation to improve socio-economic condition of women. He said, “we should take advantage of the experiences of Unnati’s chief functionary for promoting self-employment”.

Port Blair, March 27: The Member of Parliament, Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma has requested the Chief Secretary A&N Administration to install comfortable seats in all ATR buses for the convenience of the general public.

In a letter addressed to the Chief Secretary, the Member of Parliament said that the State Transport Service (STS) has been using ordinary seats in most of these ATR buses, which makes long-distance travel very uncomfortable for the passengers, especially for patients, who use STS buses to reach Mayabunder District Hospital, CHC Rangat or G B Pant Hospital Port Blair for their treatment from different areas of North & Middle Andaman.
