Port Blair, May 28: The 5th June is celebrated every year as World Environment Day. The theme for the occasion is “Beat Plastic Pollution”. The World Environment Day has always been a day a special important to India.  The day has been celebrated as dedication of national efforts for sustainable development and mainstreaming environmental concern in the national developmental agenda. 

Port Blair, May 28: Zoological Survey of India, Port Blair is organizing Exhibition on Faunal Diversity of Andaman & Nicobar Islands as a part of celebration of World Environment Day 2023. This exhibition explores the animal diversity and different ecosystem of A&N Islands through preserved specimens of various faunal groups, LED displays, Video, Pamphlets, and Brochures etc. 

Shri D Ayyappan, Secretary CPI (M) has condoled the demise of Smt Dipali Sardar, a resident of Govindpur, Middle Andaman and wife of Shri Prakash Sardar, CPI (M) Middle Andaman Area Committee Member today (27.05.2023) early morning at GB Pant Hospital, Port Blair.  She was 59 years.  Ayyappan has conveyed heartfelt condolence to the family members of late Dipali Sardar.

Port Blair, May 28: The month long summer Holiday Camp-2023 organized by the Science Centre concluded with a valedictory function held in its premises at Goodwill Estate today. Dr. Eaknath B Chakurkar, Director, ICAR-CIARI, Port Blair was the chief guest on the occasion. The chief guest along with other dignitaries inspected the various models viz. Aero Modeling, Creative Science, Fun Biology, Electricity Projects, Robotic Science, Model Rocketry, Fun Mathematics & Astronomy presented by the students. He also interacted with students while inspecting the displayed models.
