Port Blair, Dec. 16: On 14/12/2022 at 03:45 PM information was received at Police Station Swaraj Dweep regarding missing of one lady in forest near Kalapatthar beach named Ankita Suryavanshi (29 yrs) D/O Ajay Kumar Singh, who came here on tour from Allahabad, UP alongwith her parent. In response to this, a team of PS Swaraj Dweep immediately swung into action led by I/c PS SI Issac Nixon.

Port Blair, Dec. 16: A meeting of Andaman & Nicobar Islands Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board was held on Nov.9. The Board unanimously approved 1247 pending claims of the beneficiary workmen under various welfare schemes. The claims of 1155 beneficiaries amounting to Rs. 2.35 Crores have been successfully transferred to beneficiaries’ bank accounts whose Aadhaar were seeded with their bank accounts. The remaining claims could not be released as the registered beneficiary’s Aadhaar was not seeded with their savings bank account which is pre-requisite for transfer of benefits under PFMS Portal.

It is brought to the notice of the general consumers and government departments that power supply will remain suspended at the following area on 17.12.2022 (Saturday) from 0800 hrs. to 1300 hrs., in connection with replacement of old rail pole with G.I. Pipe Pole near Mariyamma Temple, Dollygunj, Port Blair.

Port Blair, Dec. 16: A three (3) days training programme on “First Aid Fire Fighting & Disaster Preparedness” was conducted at Fire Service Training Centre, Fire Service (HQ) from 13/12/2022 to 15/12/2022 to sensitize Teacher, Govt Servants, Hoteliers, Coaching Institute and General Public. 

The participants were made aware of various activities of Andaman & Nicobar Fire Service i.e Fire Control Room, operational techniques of Water Tender, Rescue Tender & Disaster Management equipment’s i.e Search & Rescue equipment’s, Chain Saw, Concrete Cutter, Air Lifting Bag, Combi Tools etc. A live demonstration has been organised on fire-fighting by using various fire extinguishers on different types of fire at Fire Service (HQ) by involving the participants on the concluding day.

Port Blair, Dec. 16: The Science Centre, Port Blair shall be organizing a ‘Sky Show’ on 17th & 18th December, 2022 between 5.30 pm to 6.30 pm. The programme to be presented includes description about the Planet- Saturn & its satellites.
