Port Blair, July 26: The Member of Parliament, Shri Bishnu Pada Ray yesterday met Shri Amit Shah, Hon’ble Home Minister, GOI, New Delhi and submitted a letter with prayers for SEBC categorization, conduct of Socio and Economic survey in the isles, for inclusion of left out category people in OBC category and for population based proportionate representation in reservation so that all groups within the OBC are provided equal opportunity for upliftment.

Hut Bay, July 26: The Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman visited Onge Settlement at Dugong Creek and had an interactive session with the Onge PVTGs and Government functionaries to understand their concerns and enquired about the welfare of Onge tribes and encouraged them to speak out their problems, if any.

The Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman visited the Onge habitations and thereafter visited the residence of Onge tribes and inspected the school & various other infrastructures available at the Island.

Bengaluru, July 26: Andaman Association of Tour Operators led by its president Shri. M. Vinod is attending the ongoing IITM travel exhibition in Bengaluru. The exhibition showcasing various domestic and international destinations is being held at Palace Grounds in Bengaluru for 3 days starting from 26 July 2024.

AATO pavilion in the exhibition was inaugurated by Shri. K. Lakshminarayanan, Hon'ble Tourism Minister of Puducherry. More than 20 delegates of AATO are participating in the exhibition supported by Makruzz.

Port Blair, July 26: The Andaman Nicobar Territorial Congress Committee President, Mr. Rangalal Halder has addressed a letter to the Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman District, requesting for opening, Allotment of quarry works tenders, and the issuance of a gravelly soil permit at Hutbay Panchayat.

In his letter, Halder emphasized the critical need for these permissions to meet the increased demand for construction materials in the region. He stated that the reopening of these facilities is essential for supporting ongoing development projects and addressing local needs.
