Port Blair, Oct. 13: Andaman & Nicobar Islands Institute of Medical Sciences (ANIIMS), Port Blair has been approved 114 MBBS seats by Ministry of Health & Family welfare (MoHFW), Govt. of India and Andaman & Nicobar Administration for the academic year 2022-23. NEET-2022 qualified students will be admitted through All India quota counselling and state quota counselling. Out of total approved 114 seats, 17 seats of All India quota will be filled by online counselling by Medical Counselling Committee (MCC), and rest of the 97 seats will be admitted under state quota (10 EWS plus 87 Category seat).

Port Blair, Oct. 13: Shri Ajoy Bairagi, State President, Bharatiya Janata Party met Ms.Veditha Reddy, IAS, Secretary Education at her office today and discussed various issues pertaining to education department. Bairagi discussed issue of shortage of teachers in Government School, Kishori Nagar, Diglipur and other issues raised by the Pradhan of Gram Panchayat, Kishori Nagar. The Secretary Education has assured Shri Ajoy Bairagi to look into the issues raised by him at the earliest.

Port Blair, Oct. 13: The Sports Authority of India (SAI) is implementing the Sports Promotional Schemes across the country to identify talented sports persons and nurture them to excel at National and International competitions. With the above aim, SAI is establishing a SAI Training Centre at Modern Sports Complex, Lapathy, Car Nicobar in the disciplines of football, athletics, weightlifting and cycling.

Port Blair, Oct. 13: The Department of Home Science, JNRM, in association with the Port Blair Municipal Council (PBMC) organised a Three days “Entrepreneurship Development Programme (EDP)” in JNRM for the beneficiaries under Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana-National Urban Livelihoods Mission (DAY-NULM). The valedictory function for the EDP was held on 13th February 2022 in Lecture Gallery, JNRM. Shri. B.Senthil Kumar, IDAS, Joint Controller of Defence Accounts, ANC, Ministry of Defence graced the occasion as Chief Guest.
