Electricity Act 2003 Has Provisions to Safeguard Employees: MOS Power

Port Blair, March 10: The Member of Parliament, Shri Kuldeep Rai Sharma had raised the issue of privatization of electricity department in the islands in the Lok Sabha. The MP had shared his concerns about the existing employees being affected due to the decision of the GOI and also concerns about reduced employment in government sector for the islanders.

Port Blair, March 10: The Government of India has decided to commemorate the 75th Anniversary of India’s Independence in a befitting manner at National and International level. The programmes for celebration shall begin 75 weeks prior to 15th August, 2022.      The celebrations will be launched by the Prime Minister on 12th March, 2021 that marks the anniversary of the Dandi March. On this day, events related to ‘Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav’ will unfold in the country and the celebration will also be simultaneously launched in A&N Islands. To celebrate the events in A&N Islands, a UT level Apex Committee has been constituted under the chairmanship of the Chief Secretary, A&N Administration.

Port Blair, March 10: True Vision Foundation (TVF) NGO celebrated International Women’s Day at Kannada Sangha Building near Syndicate Bank Port Blair on 08th March 2021 with the theme of “Choose to Challenge”. Padmashree Awardee Mrs. Shanti Teresa Lakra was the Chief Guest on the occasion.

The TFV took this opportunity to felicitate women from different walks of life who have shown the best services in their respective fields. Cash prizes and mementos were also given to COVID-19 warriors and children who participated in the drawing competition conducted earlier by TVF.

Port Blair, March 10: The Member of Parliament, Shri Kuldeep Rai Sharma has requested the Superintending Engineer, CC-I, APWD for North & Middle Andaman to make proper arrangements for supplying drinking water to the villages of Radhanagar and Shyam Nagar and similar places under Diglipur Tehsil.  These villagers are facing acute water crisis and there are no natural water bodies available in their residential areas making them depend on potable water supplied by the department.  The MP requested the APWD to resolve the water crises problems in these villages by getting repaired the existing water pipe lines or by making any alternative arrangements.

District Administration Cautions General Public not to Fall Prey to Middlemen

Port Blair, March 10: Registration process is an important aspect of the District Revenue Administration. In order to achieve transparency and accountability in the system, district administration has been registering deeds through online process. Once again it is appealed to the general public that they may register on URL https://onlineregistrationani.gov.in/ or visit their nearest Common Service Centers (CSCs) for uploading their documents at enlisted rates of CSCs.  Further, it is brought to the notice of general public the broad checklist of documents for registration includes, ROR, Sketch map, valuation of land (if applicable), No dues/ Non encumbrance from revenue department and PBMC( if applicable), OR report(in case of agriculture land and sale permission (in case of house site), to be uploaded. The checklist of documents has already been provided on the above mentioned URL for public convenience. Since District Administration believes in simplifying procedure and streamlining process therefore, all the redundant documents have been removed.
