Port Blair, Sept. 26: The Chief Secretary, A&N Administration, Shri Keshav Chandra, IAS during his visit to Swaraj Dweep flagged off five e-busses of Transport Department, A&N Administration today. This initiative is an effort of A&N Administration towards environment protection and preservation of Swaraj Dweep’s scenic natural beauty.

Port Blair, Sept. 26: The Chief Secretary, A&N Administration, Shri Keshav Chandra, IAS during his visit to Swaraj Dweep visited Kalapathar Beach and its adjoining village early in the morning today on the request of public representatives.  During the visit, he was apprised of the issues and the challenges being faced by the villagers. Regarding parking space for vehicles at Kalapathar beach, the Chief Secretary said, the issue may be sorted out after proper demarcation of land.  The request for creation of proper trekking route will also be looked into.

It gives me immense pleasure to learn that along with the rest of the world, the A&N Islands is also celebrating 'World Tourism Day-2022' befittingly on 27th September, 2022. It was on this very day in 1980 that the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) came into being.

The theme for this year's celebration, 'Rethinking Tourism' gives us the opportunity to reconsider how we can develop tourism as a more sustainable, inclusive and resilient manner.
