Port Blair, Sept. 25: The Member of Parliament, Shri Kuldeep Rai Sharma on Friday met the Secretary Education and placed four crucial demands before her relating to the welfare of students.

The Member of Parliament demanded for starting a second shift in JNRM from the 2022-2023 session, so that the maximum number of students can get admission in degree programmes and study in their dream subjects in these Islands for their better future.

Port Blair, Sept. 25: Shri Vishal Jolly National Executive Member BJP & Former State President BJP had demanded granting of two (2) years age relaxation for all Group-B non-gazetted posts for which the recruitment through direct recruitment would be held, especially for the posts of Junior Engineers under Andaman Public Works Department in a letter addressed to Hon’ble Lt. Governor, ANI and Chief Secretary, A&N Administration.

Port Blair, Sept. 25: In a small event, Port Blair Guru Ki Rasoi in association with Coast Guard Wives Welfare Association (Tatrakshika) distributed Health & Ration kits to 15 Single Mothers.

Port Blair, Sept. 25: As part of the All India Campaign by the CPI (M) on “the Increasing Assaults of the BJP Central Government on people’s livelihood”, the Diglipur Area Committee of the CPI (M) conducted a mass demonstration in front of the office of Assistant Commissioner, Mayabunder on 23rd Sept. 2022.  Party leaders and workers from different parts of Diglipur participated in the programme. The demands raised in the mass demonstration were (1) withdraw GST on food articles (2) restore subsidy on gas cylinders (3) Abolish Central government cess/surcharge on petroleum products (4) Fill up all the vacant posts in various government departments, etc.  

Port Blair, Sept. 25: As per the directions of the Election Commission of India, the Collection of Aadhaar data from electors for linking and authentication of Electoral Rolls data is being carried out in Andaman & Nicobar Islands Parliamentary Constituency. In a press release, the Chief Electoral Officer, A&N Islands today informed that Special Camps were organized in ANIPC to facilitate linking of Aadhaar Numbers with Voter ID. These camps were aimed to provide all possible assistance to electors in linking of Aadhaar with Voter ID Card. The camps were organized in all 412 Polling Stations across A&N Islands Parliamentary Constituency.
