Port Blair, Sept. 6: A Selection trial for the 52nd National under 19 Chess Championship 2023 & 37th National under 19 Girls Chess Championship2023 was conducted by Andaman Nicobar Chess Association at ANCA Chess Centre, Dairy Farm, today (06.09.2023).

Around 50 chess players participated in the Selection trials with great enthusiasm in which the following chess players have been selected as per the final standings of the Selection Trials to represent A & N Islands in the upcoming 52nd National under 19 Chess Championship 2023 & 37th National under 19 Girls Chess Championship2023 scheduled to be held in Ahmedabad, Gujarat from 20th September to 28th September 2023.

Port Blair, Sept. 6: The Member of Parliament, A&N Islands, Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma has requested the Hon’ble Minister of Housing and Urban Affairs, Government of India to release Rs. 50 crores fund from AMRUT scheme for A & N Islands.

In a letter addressed to the Hon’ble Minister, the Member of Parliament highlighted the issue of allocation of funds under the Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) for the development of infrastructure in the Andaman & Nicobar Islands.

Port Blair, Sept. 6: The Directorate of Education will conduct Trade/ Skill test for the post of Craft Instructor (Tailoring & Embroidery) and Craft Instructor (Music) on 14th Sept. 2023 & 15th Sept. 2023 respectively. The list of candidates called for Trade/Skill test along with date, time & venue of the test will be published on the official website https://edurec.andaman.gov.in on 07-09-2023. All the candidates whose names have appeared in the list have been directed to appear for Trade/Skill test as per scheduled date, time and venue without fail.

Port Blair, Sept. 6: The Coconut Development Board, State Centre, Port Blair celebrated Coconut Day in association with Agriculture Department at Conference Hall Assistant Director of Agriculture on 2nd September 2023. Shri Y Rama Krishna Head of KVK (Krishi Vigyan Kendra) Sippighat, Joint Director (Agriculture) and Smti S C. Rekha, Assistant Director (Agri) graced the occasion as Chief Guest and Guest of Honour respectively.

Port Blair, Sept. 6: Applications have been invited for admission to Diploma in Computer Application course aligned with National Skill Qualification Framework (NSQF) to be offered by Skill Development Programme Cell of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Institute of Technology (DBRAIT). The course will commence from Sept. 15 and the minimum qualification required is XII pass. The course fee will be Rs 250/- per month and will be conducted at DBRAIT Pahargaon.
