Port Blair, Dec. 2: In light of the Guidelines of Ministry of Home Affairs for surveillance, containment and caution with regard to COVID-19 and subsequent Order by A&N Administration for its implementation, the Directorate of Shipping Services has initially recommenced shipping services to Tourist destinations like Swaraj Dweep and Shaheed Dweep. The Administration now after due assessment of the prevailing situation has decided to open up shipping activity in the other Islands also, in a phased manner.  The shipping services would be reviewed every fortnight and depending on the situation, the shipping services would be augmented suitably.

Port Blair, Dec. 2: On 23/11/2020, upon receipt of information from a resident of Burmanallah regarding theft of gold ornaments from his house, a special team comprising SI Dinesh Meena, SI Devanand Pathak, HC Raja, PCs Ashok Kumar, Suresh Kumar, Rajesh & Sudeep Kumar were constituted immediately to track the accused person and recover the stolen gold.

Port Blair, Dec 2: The Traffic Unit of Andaman & Nicobar Police has been driving various initiatives to curb accidents and fatalities on roads. The latest in its endeavor is the introduction of High-Tech Speed Laser Gun on 27/10/2020 for detection of over speeding by the vehicles in the city as well as on NH-4.

Port Blair, Dec 2: In its continuous efforts to curb the menace of the illegal sale of liquor, the District Administration conducted a surprise inspection through its Excise team of Ferrargunj Tehsil at the premises of a shop. A total number of 17 sealed bottles and 02 nos. of open bottles of liquor were seized.
