Residents of Dairy Farm Complain of Unhygienic Conditions After The Area Was Sealed

Port Blair, Aug 4: With cases of COVID-19 soaring in the South Andaman District, the District Administration is on a mission to identify the hotspots and declare it as Containment Zones. As on date areas like Shore Point, Prem Nagar, Garacharma, Bhatu Basti, Dairy Farm, Phoenix Bay, Junglighat and Haddo has been declared as Containment Zones. Sources indicate that more such areas including Ratnam Market are on the radar.

Port Blair, Aug. 4: As many as five staff of the Andaman Aadim Janjati Vikas Samiti (AAJVS) who are posted in the Jarawa Tribal Reserve to look after the welfare of the tribe have been tested COVID-19 positive. The staffs include the Driver of the Executive Secretary of AAJVS.

Port Blair, Aug. 4: The Andaman & Nicobar Islands have recorded as many as 13 deaths due to COVID-19 pandemic. Two deaths were recorded today in which an eight year old boy suffering from diabetes succumbed to COVID-19 after he was admitted in the GB Pant Hospital. The child was waiting to be airlifted to Chennai for specialized treatment but could not make it due to lack of proper treatment at Andaman’s only referral hospital, GB Pant.
