Port Blair, April 18: A Mock Drill on earthquake was conducted in the Cinema Hall (Anand Paradise Multiplex), Port Blair today by the Directorate of Disaster Management in coordination with District Administration, South Andaman, A&N Police, A&N Police Fire Services, Directorate of Health Services and NDRF by creating real time earthquake disaster simulation scenario and tested the disaster preparedness  of the  Cinema  Hall  and  response  of all  Emergency  Support Functionaries (ESFs) on safe evacuation, search & rescue and first aid alongwith medical support to manage the earthquake scenario in the Cinema Hall.

Port Blair, April 18: As part of Fire Service Week observance from 14th April to 20th April, 2023, Community Outreach Programmes were organized by A&N Fire Service to enhance public awareness on fire hazard and fire safety measures. A Drawing and Painting Competition on the theme ‘Awareness in Fire Safety for growth of national infrastructure (AGNI)’ was organized at Fire Service (HQ) along with other Fire Stations spread across A & N Islands today.

Port Blair, April 18: Once again the dedicated team of Police Station Aberdeen cracked down a burglary case by arresting two burglars and recovered Rs. 1,38,500/- stolen cash within 24 hours.

A burglary case was reported at Police Station Aberdeen in the evening of 14-04-2023. The complainant informed that on 14-04-2023 at around 1 PM, they went to Diwan Singh Gurudwara on the eve of Vaishakhi. When they returned, they found that household articles were scattered and cash around Rs. 2 Lakhs had been stolen from the almirah.
