Port Blair, July 9: The Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor had an engaging interaction with 28 probationary officers of the Indian Police Service (IPS), who are currently undergoing their training. This diverse and dynamic group of officers showcases the future of India’s law enforcement and governance.

Nancowrie, July 9: The Chief Secretary, A&N Islands, Shri Keshav Chandra, IAS, today virtually inaugurated the e-Corner at Nancowrie Tehsil, marking a signification milestone in the implementation of online services in the remote Island. Ms. Jyoti Kumari, IAS, Deputy Commissioner Nicobars was also present virtually. Shri Ravindra Kumar, Assistant Commissioner, Nancowrie and Smti Aysha Majeed, Chairman Tribal Council, Kamorta, and many other line Departments Head of Office were also present on the occasion.

Pondicherry, July 9: The 5th South Zone Pencak Silat (martial arts) championship was held at Pondicherry 6th and 7th of July 2024 in which the Andaman & Nicobar Island team Coach cum Trainer, Senior Player Logarjun M added pride to the Andaman & Nicobar Islands by securing a gold medal. He is the first gold medalist from Andaman & Nicobar Islands in the senior category of Pencak Silat Martial Arts (in fight).

Port Blair, July 9: Shri D. Ayyappan, Secretary, CPI (M) Andaman & Nicobar State Organising Committee recently met the new Chief Engineer of APWD and brought to his notice the deplorable condition urban and rural roads in Andaman & Nicobar Islands. He urged the Chief Engineer to frame some concrete proposals for re-laying of all the urban and rural roads by utilizing the latest technology with the technical assistance of Central Road Research Institute (CRRI), New Delhi.  

Port Blair, July 9: The President of the Nicobar Youth Association, Mr. Rayhaan Pasha, on behalf of the tribal community of Nancowry group of Islands, appreciated the Chief Secretary of Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Shri Keshav Chandra, IAS, for inaugurating the e-corner on 9th July 2024 at Nancowrie Tehsil virtually. This marked a milestone in the implementation of online services on the remote island. He expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Chief Secretary for his ever-sympathetic approach towards tribal issues. It is only because of his support that the tribal community, now with a new ray of hope, is able to dream of a prosperous future.
