Port Blair, Oct. 27: The Member of Parliament, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma has requested the Hon’ble Lt. Governor of Andaman & Nicobar Islands to resolve the long pending issues/grievances of villagers of Campbell Bay Gram Panchayat.

In a letter addressed to the Hon’ble Lt. Governor the Member of Parliament mentioned that during his recent tour to Campbell Bay, Great Nicobar, the PRI members of Campbell Bay met him and presented some burning issues/grievances.

Port Blair, Oct. 27: The Department of Industries has been implementing a Centrally Sponsored Scheme ‘Prime Minister’s Formalization of Micro Food Processing Enterprises Scheme (PM FME)’ of Ministry of Food Processing Industries under Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan with the objective to formulize and strengthen Micro Food Processing Enterprises by utilizing the local resources. Under the scheme, financial assistance in the form of Credit Linked Subsidy @ 35% of the project cost will be extended to the individual and group enterprises.

Port Blair, Oct. 27: Due to delay in arrival of the vessel from Chennai, the vessel MV Swaraj Dweep may not be able to maintain her next announced schedule to Vizag i.e. on 28th Oct. 2022 from Port Blair. However, the newly inducted vessel Nalanda will now sail for Vizag in place of MV Swaraj Dweep on 02.11.2022 at 1600 Hrs from Haddo Wharf and will sail back to Port Blair on 06.11.2022 at 1600 hrs from Vizag port.

Port Blair, Oct. 27: The Asian Continental Chess Championship-2022 got off to a rousing start at Leela Ambience Convention Hotel on Wednesday. 140 players from 13 Asian countries which include 31 Grandmasters, 46 International Masters, 14 Women Grandmasters and 17 Women International Masters are participating in this nine day long prestigious championship to decide the Asian champion. Apart from Asian supremacy, the event serves as qualification for the next year’s World Cup as the top four players in the Open and two players in the women’s category will secure their berth in the World cup.
