Port Blair, Nov. 17: NABARD, Andaman and Nicobar Regional Office is conducting a six day training programme on natural farming from 14th to 19th November 2022 in two batches for farmers of South Andaman, and North and Middle Andaman. The first batch consisted of 30 farmers from South Andaman. The training for the second batch of 30 farmers from North and Middle Andaman was inaugurated today by Shri Pankaj Kumar, IAS, Secretary, Department of Agriculture, A&N Administration and Dr E. B. Chakurkar, Director, CIARI was the guest of honour.

Port Blair, Nov.17: The Directorate of Industries, A&N Administration organized a short term Skill Development Training Programme on ‘Handicrafts (Coconut Shell, Wood and Cane & Bamboo) products’ at Stewartgunj, Gram Panchayat from 12th October, 2022 to 17th November, 2022. Altogether, 21 candidates participated in the training programme and were imparted the basic skills and knowledge for making handicrafts, thus creating self-employment opportunities for boosting the economy of Islands.

Port Blair, Nov. 17: A few seats are lying vacant in the General and Reserved category (OBC/ST/EWSs) in UG Degree courses in ANCOL for the academic year 2022-2023.  All the interested candidates whose names appeared in the final merit list of various UG courses may advise attending the final round of counseling on 21st November, 2022 without fail. The final merit list may be downloaded from the common college admission portal website (https://collegeadmission.andaman.gov.in). The special admission cum counseling drive for ST candidates will be conducted on the same day. If any reserved category (except EWSs) seat lying vacant the same may be released to the General Category candidate on merit on the same day.

Port Blair, Nov. 17: As per the information received from the Meteorological Office, Port Blair, a low pressure area has formed over Southwest Bay of Bengal & adjoining Andaman Sea today and is likely to move west-northwestwards and gradually concentrate into a Depression over central parts of South Bay of Bengal around November 19, 2022.

The candidate should bring the following documents in original for verification and one set of photostat copies (to be submitted during admission) viz. XII Marks Statement (Original will be detained in JNRM), School Leaving Certificate (Transfer Certificate) (Original will be detained in JNRM), X Pass certificate for verification of date of birth, Category Certificate (ST, OBC, PH, ward of central Govt. Servants/Ex-Servicemen & EWS), Aadhaar/Aadhaar Enrolment Slip and 1 passport size photograph.
