Port Blair, June 12: Acting on a specific information received from reliable source, one person namely Mohammed Yaquoob R/o Sippighat was arrested by PS Aberdeen after he received a parcel from DTDC Courier, Junglighat which contained 80 gms of Contraband item (Ganja). The Ganja was clandestinely concealed inside the parcel sent from Kolkatta.

CCS Arrests Two Employees of METS Engaged in Drug Peddling, Three Receivers Also Arrested

Port Blair, June 10: Acting on a specific information received from reliable source, two employees of Marine Engineering Trade Services (METS) were arrested by PS Central Crime Station with 0.460 Kgs Ganja on 08/06/2022. The ganja was clandestinely concealed inside postal parcel sent from Bangalore.  The arrested persons are T. Santosh Kumar, S/o Sh. T. Thatha Rao, BE (Electrical & Electronic), (32 yrs.), Deputy Manager, Marine Engineering Trade Services (METS), R/o Anarkali and P. Arul Deepak, S/o Sh. Pathinglass, Diploma (Marine Engineer), (26 yrs.), Purchasing Manager at Marine Engineering Trade Services, R/o Garacharma.

Pradhan and PRIs of Gram Panchayat Threaten Mass Resignation if the Issue is Not Addressed on Time

Diglipur, June 10: Mr Mitun Das, Pradhan, Gram Panchayat, Ramnagar along with all PRIs of the have threatened a mass resignation if the STS Bus Service is not restored in the village. They have given an ultimatum of 30 days within which if there is no response, the mass resignation will be submitted.

CPI (M) Demands Immediate Filling Up of Vacant Posts Under A&N Administration

Port Blair, June 10: Communist Party of India (Marxist) has demanded immediate filling up of vacant posts under the Andaman & Nicobar Administration. In a letter sent to the Lt. Governor, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Shri D. Ayyappan, Secretary, CPI (M) A & N State Organising Committee drew the attention of the Lt. Governor to the inaction on the part of the Andaman & Nicobar Administration in not filling up the vacant posts lying in various departments under the Administration. He said that about ten thousand posts are lying vacant. None of the departments has taken any effective steps to fill up these posts. CPI (M) told the Lt. Governor that no recruitment is carried out in any of the departments during the last 2 – 3 years.  It is intriguing that only publicity is resorted to at various levels of the Administration about the filling up of these posts but at the ground level nothing is happening and the posts remain unfilled, he said.
