Port Blair, June 7: A truck bearing Registration No. AN 01 P 1476 and two nos. of excavators one of make, TATA were seized by the revenue officials which were indulged in illegal earth cutting and transportation in violation of A & N Islands Minor Mineral Rules, 2012. Around 100 Cbm (approx.) of earth from land classified as Hilly situated at Sippighat Village recorded in favour of Kunal Kumar Paul, S/o Amarnath Paul and 25 Others was extracted and have been transported and dumped upon another land situated at Sippighat Village recorded in favour of Gulab Devi, W/o Puran Lall.

Port Blair, June 7: The District Child Protection Unit South Andaman, under District Administration in collaboration with Wildlife Division Port Blair, Department of Environment and Forest observed World Environment Day on 5th June 2024 with the Children of Child Care Institutions at Nature Park and Interpretation Centre, under the guidance of Shri. Sandeep Divyajyoti Behra, IFS, Deputy Conservative of Forest, Wildlife Division, Haddo.

Port Blair, June 7: All the private hospitals and clinics have been informed that the Bio Medical Waste sent to GB Pant Hospital for disposal should be properly segregated at source level as per the latest Bio Medical Waste management guidelines. The segregated waste should also be certified regarding its content. Since, the Red, Blue and White bags are being sent to PBMC for disposal, all the contents of these bags should also be sterilised using Sodium Hypochlorite solution/ autoclave/ hydroclave/ microwave and adequately labelled. The dry and wet waste also needs to be sent separately to ensure adequate disposal.

Port Blair, June 7: Heavy rain (7-11 cm) is likely to occur at one or two places over Andaman Islands on June 9 & 10. Due to squally weather with strong surface wind with wind speed 40 to 50 kmph is very likely to be along and off Andaman & Nicobar coasts. Sea condition is likely to be rough to very rough. Fishermen have been advised not to venture into the sea from June 10 till the morning of June 12.

Port Blair, June 7: All concerned have been informed that in view of the repair and maintenance of the Floating Jetty and Gangway of Pantoon at RGWSC. All IV Boats have to be shifted from Aberdeen Jetty to Junglighat Terminal Jetty w.e.f. June 10, 2024 till further order to facilitate the tourists.
