Shri Kuldeep Rai Sharma, Member of Parliament, Andaman Nicobar Islands has deeply mourned the sad demise of M M Syed Hussain (34 years) Forest Guard, S/o Shri S.M. Abdul Kader R/o Mayabunder who passed away on 26.06.2023 at Swaraj Dweep.  He prayed to the Almighty to give eternal peace to the departed soul and courage to the bereaved family to bear the irreparable loss.

The event saw an impressive turnout of individuals from various sections of society, including women, children, NCC cadets, NGOs, and political organizations.

Mayabunder, June 26: The North & Middle Andaman District Police has made a first-of-its-kind effort by introducing "HUNAR" a creative and innovative project, to involve Andaman youth in skill development courses in an effort to reduce victimization and their engagement in criminal activities. The program was flagged off under the able guidance and leadership of Ms. Geetanjali Khandelwal, IPS, Superintendent of Police, North & Middle Andaman District and under the banner of Community Policing Initiative.

Port Blair, June 26: CPI (M) has demanded creation of an Autonomous Tribal Council for Nicobar District on the lines of Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council.  In the Memorandum submitted to the Home Secretary, Govt. of India on 23rd June 2023 in Delhi, D. Ayyappan, Secretary, CPI (M) Andaman & Nicobar State Organising Committee stated that after the 73rd Constitution (Amendment) Act, 1992 came into being, the people of the country have got a direct participation in the governance of the local bodies. Panchayat-raj institutions were reorganized in the 3-tier system with entire participation of the people in the implementation of the welfare measures initiated by the governments.
