Port Blair, Oct. 28: The Health Ministry has introduced an initiative called ‘Ni-kshay Mitra’ which allows individuals to adopt Tuberculosis patients and look after their nutritional and medical needs in a bid to eliminate the stigma surrounding the disease in India. The programme was brought in to fill the critical ‘community’ elements into India’s fight towards Pradhan Mantri TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan aimed at eliminating TB by 2025.

Rangat, Oct. 28 Adopting Tuberculosis patients under the newly launched Ni-kshay Mitra Scheme, the NGO, Sammati, Rangat today distributed ration articles to 6 patients at a function held at the conference hall of CHC Rangat.

Port Blair, Oct. 28: In order to recognize the outstanding sportspersons having shown excellence at National and International competition/meet, the Government Department and State Level Sports Associations recognized by A&N States Sports Council (A&NSSC) have been asked  to submit the list of the sportspersons who have won medals/positions in the recognized National and International meet held during April, 2020 to March, 2021 and April, 2021 to March - 2022 in a prescribed performa which can be collected  from Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs, A&N Administration during office hours. The duly filled in performa alongwith duly attested photo copies of certificates issued by the respective Organization/ Association/ Federation of National Level must be submitted in the Office at Netaji Stadium on or before 25th Nov., 2022.

Port Blair, Oct. 28: Exposure visit for teacher trainees of U.G. Ed. III year students from Tagore Govt. College of Education was organized by The ICAR-Krishi Vigyan Kendra, South Andaman on 27th Oct 2022 at KVK, Sippighat. As part of the curriculum field visit was organized with the objective to create awareness among students regarding various activities of KVK and also to discuss in detail different sustainable income generating opportunities available for the youth of Andaman.
