Overall Pass Percentage of Class XII in A&N Islands Stands at 83.44%

Port Blair, May 12: The result of All India Senior Secondary Certificate Examination 2022-2023 (Class XII) was announced today. As per the results downloaded from the website of CBSE, out of 6297 students who appeared in class XII from the Government and Private Schools in Andaman and Nicobar Islands, 5254   students have passed and 630 students have been placed in compartment. The overall pass percentage of A & N Islands stood at 83.44 %.  

Port Blair, May 12: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) announced the much-anticipated results for Classes 10 and 12 today. In this regard, Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma, Member of Parliament of Andaman & Nicobar Islands, has extended his warmest congratulations to all the students of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, who have successfully passed their Class X and Class XI CBSE examinations.

Port Blair, May 12: A&N Islands is an Island territory with limited water resources and we have to make the best use of the available resources. We have to ensure that we continue to take measures to harvest every available source of water on the Islands.

During the year 2022, cumulative annual rainfall was substantially less than the previous 2 years. As compared to 2019 (3775 mm), 2020 (5247 mm), 2021 (5879 mm), in 2022, the Islands received only 3356 mm of rains, which was 43% less than last year. Further, no major rainfall was registered during the North-West Monsoon except in the early month of Nov. 2022. In 2021, during the North-west monsoon period, there was 970 mm rain, while last year we got only 273 mm rains (28%), the Islands received only about 1/4th of the rain last year.

Port Blair, May 12: Admiral D K Joshi, PVSM, AVSM, YSM, NM, VSM (Retd.), Hon’ble Lt Governor, A&N Islands and Vice-Chairman, Islands Development Agency reviewed the action taken and proactive steps in Mission Mode for accomplishing the target of filling up of vacant posts of Group A, B & C in A&N Islands in the presence of Chief Secretary, A&N Administration, Senior Officials of Andaman & Nicobar Administration, Andaman & Nicobar Police & Deptt. of Environment & Forest. Hon’ble Lt Governor appreciated the recent efforts of Departments for Recruitment and reiterated to maintain Zero Tolerance policy against corruption.

Port Blair, May 12: Smt. Archana Singh, on assuming the charge of General Manager, NABARD called on Admiral D K Joshi, PVSM, AVSM, YSM, NM, VSM (Retd.), Hon’ble Lt Governor, A&N Islands and Vice-Chairman, Islands Development Agency today at Raj Niwas. Hon’ble Lt Governor recommended for providing investment and production credit for promoting various developmental activities in rural areas of A&N Islands.
