Port Blair, Feb 8: Shri D. Ayyappan, Secretary, CPI (M) A & N State Organising Committee along with other leaders of the party has met the fire victims at Junglighat on 7th February, 2023.  A devastating fire on 1st February, 2023 night at Junglighat completely gutted five shops and a residential house while damaging a few other adjacent shops.  Each shopkeeper sustained the loss of several lakhs in the fire incident while the residential building was completely gutted, rendering the residents shelter-less.

Port Blair, Feb. 9: The Government of India is committed towards Anaemia Mukt Bharat and a worm-free future for the children of India. Worm infestation impair the nutritional status of the children. The nutritional impairment has significant impact on growth and physical development. Worms consume nutrients meant for the human body and cause blood loss, poor nutrition and stunted growth. Due to heavy infection, children are often too sick or tired to concentrate at school or attend School/ Anganwadi. Worm infestation negatively affect children’s physical and cognitive development which could have long term negative impact on them. Studies show that absenteeism in schools decreases with regular deworming.

It is brought to the notice of the electricity consumer and general public that power supply will remain suspended at the following area on 09.02.2023 (Thursday) from 0800 hrs. to 1400 hrs. in connection with cutting of 02 Nos. Siris tree standing adjacemt to house of Shri. Kuldip Singh, S/o. Shaitan Singh at Bird Line / Calicut, as per the order of SDM.

Port Blair, Feb. 8: The A & N Administration conducted written examination Tier-I to fill up the vacancies under common category of Group ‘C’ Posts through the Staff Selection commission (SSC) on 20.11.2022, in which a total of 33244 candidates appeared in the written examination conducted at 64 centres across the Islands.

Based on the evaluation of the Answer Sheets (OMR) by the Staff Selection Commission (SSC), the statement of scores secured by the candidates has been uploaded on the A&N Administration's website ‘https://karmic.andaman. gov.in’ and the same will be accessible online from 09.02.2023 from 11 am onwards.
