This day is celebrated each year on 14th January to pay tribute to the selfless devotion and exemplary service rendered by our veterans in the service of the Nation.

Port Blair, Jan 13: Along with the rest in the country, the Armed Forces Veterans Day will also be observed in A&N Islands tomorrow (Jan.14) . Jan.14 every year is commemorated  as Armed Forces Veterans Day  as a mark of respect and recognition to the services rendered by Field Marshal KM Cariappa, the first Indian Chief of Indian Army who retired from service on Jan 14, 1953.

Port Blair, Jan 13: The Science Centre, Port Blair will be organizing a sky show tomorrow (Jan.14) from 5.30 pm to 6.30 pm. The programme to be presented include a description of the Planet- Jupiter & its satellites. Visitors will be provided with a Sky map of the sky over Port Blair for locating planets and other celestial bodies. They can have the opportunity of viewing the Planet- Jupiter & its moons popularly known as Galilean Moons called Io, Europa, Ganymede and Callisto. The entry fee for the sky observation is Rs.10/- for each person.
