Sri Vijaya Puram, Feb. 16: The District Legal Services Authority, Andaman & Nicobar Islands will be holding National Lok Adalat in the District Court Complex at Port Blair and Sub-Divisional Court Complex at Mayabunder and Circuit Court at Diglipur on 08.03.2025. Besides the compoundable nature of cases pending in different Courts, disputes at the pre-litigation stage will also be entertained by the National Lok Adalat for disposal upon consensual settlement between the parties. Pre-litigation disputes include (i) NI Act cases u/s 138, (ii) Money recovery cases, (iii) Labour dispute cases, (iv) Electricity and water bills cases (excluding non-compoundable), (v) Maintenance cases (vi) Civil disputes and (vii) Disputes under the Consumer Protection Act.

Expresses gratitude to Chief Secretary, A&N Administration for initiating the National Highway Proposal
New Delhi, Feb 14: Shri Bishnu Pada Ray, Hon’ble Member of Parliament of Andaman & Nicobar Islands, met Shri Nitin Gadkari, Hon’ble Minister of Road Transport & Highways on 12/02/2025 to request the expedited approval of the proposal submitted by the UT Administration for the upgradation of 14 State Highway roads to National Highways, including the development of wayside amenities.
The Hon’ble MP expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the Chief Secretary of A&N Administration for proactively acting on the decision and directions given by the Hon’ble Minister of Road Transport & Highways during his visit to Sri Vijayapuram and the review meeting at Raj Niwas on 27th December 2024.

Sri Vijaya Puram, Feb 14: In a significant crackdown on illegal activities, on 10/02/2025, acting on specific intelligence received from a reliable source, a police team comprising of Inspector Girish Kumar, SHO, PS Crime & Economic Offence, SI Moideen Kutty, ASI Mohd. Rafique, Head Constable Sanjay Kujur & K.Venkateshwar Rao, Constable K. Rajendran of PS Crime & Economic Offence along with Constable Bala Subramanium, Police Photographer under the supervision of Dy.SP (CID), intercepted one Auto Rickshaw bearing Registration No. AN 01 R 0584 at Bimblitan Chowk driven by Animesh Ezzeddar S/o Shri Ashok Ezzeddar, (35) yrs, R/o Jodakalan, Garacharma and a permanent resident of Nabagram, Kalighat. During the operation, the team seized 4.290 kgs of Ganja concealed in the said Auto Rickshaw by Animesh Ezzeddar. Accused was arrested on the spot following the due legal procedure and a case under relevant sections of NDPS Act-1985 has been registered at PS C&EO.

Governor of Delhi, Shri Vinai Kumar Saxena for sustainable Urban Planning and Architectural Excellence for strengthening and enhancing the infrastructure for future development projects in A&N Islands, which will prove to be an important initiative in realizing the vision of ‘Viksit Bharat’.

The event began with the ceremonial first move on the chessboard by Smti. Archana Singh, Principal, in the presence of Shri. Mohd. Irshad Ahmed, AD (Sports) and Shri. B. Neelaiah, Nodal Officer (Chess).
In her address, Principal Smti. Archana Singh highlighted the numerous benefits of chess, emphasizing its role in enhancing cognitive skills, patience, and strategic thinking among students.
