Port Blair, April 25: Due to Joint Naval Exercise at Andaman Sea and restriction in port access at Haddo Wharf, the scheduled departure time of the vessel MV Swaraj Dweep for Vizag on 29.04.2023 at 1000 hrs from Port Blair has been preponed. Now, the vessel will sail for Vizag on the same day i.e. on 29.04.2023 at 0500 hrs instead of 1000 hrs from Haddo Wharf. Embarkation of passengers will commence on 28.04.2023 from 2000 hrs onwards. Inconvenience caused to the passengers due to above changes is regretted.

Port Blair, April 25: The vessel MV Swaraj Dweep which sailed from Vizag is expected to arrive at Port Blair on April 26, 2023 at 0700 hrs.  She has on board a total of 277 passengers. On arrival at Port Blair, the vessel will be berthed at Haddo Wharf and passengers will be disembarked immediately.

Port Blair, April 24: On the occasion of National Panchayati Raj Diwas, the Directorate of RD, PRIs and ULBs, A&N Administration organized a felicitation programme for the top 3 UT Level Awardees under National Panchayat Awards, 2023 in the 9 themes of Localization of Sustainable Development Goals (LSDG) under the category ‘Deen Dayal Upadhyay Panchayat Satat Vikas Puraskar (DDUPSVP). The programme was held under the chairmanship of Ms. Veditha Reddy, IAS, Secretary (RD/Panchayat) in the conference hall of DC Office, South Andaman. The programme was also attended by Shri Aditya Kumar Asthana, Director (RD/Panchayat).

Port Blair, April 24: The Member of Parliament, Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma has requested the Hon’ble Lt. Governor to direct the concerned departments to install floodlights at Netaji Stadium as soon as possible. The demand is to enable Administration and local cultural & sports organisations to organise state functions, VIP visit events, Tourism Festival events, cultural events and sports events for the entertainment and amusement of the Islanders.

Port Blair, April 24: C 20 National Conference under G20 summit programme on “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” was organized by Chinmaya Mission yesterday at Tagore auditorium. The day-long conference was inaugurated by Shri Keshav Chanda IAS, Chief Secretary A&N Administration in auspicious presence of Smt. S Selvi Chairperson PBMC and Swami Mitrananda National Coordinator for the programme.
