Port Blair, July 17: In continuation of fight against drugs, acting on a specific intelligence input, Police Team from Narcotics Cell, CID Unit consisting of SI Mohd. Rahil Islam, ASI Sanjay Yadav, Constable Ratan Das, Nandita Mistry, Vishal Kumar and M. Raja Rao under the supervision of Shri Vinay Mathur, DANIPS, Dy.SP, Narcotics intercepted one person namely D. Prem Kumar (25) yrs S/o Shri. D. Bogeshwar Rao, former Cargo Staff at Go Air R/o Brookshabad near Kamraj Senior Secondary School at VSI Airport, who had arrived at Port Blair from Kolkata on 16/07/2023 by flight. Total 3.564 Kgs of Ganja, which was clandestinely concealed in his bag, was seized from him and the said person was arrested on the spot observing all codal formalities.

Port Blair, July 17: In a historic move, the Hon’ble Lt. Governor, Andaman and Nicobar Islands has approved enhancement of honorarium of Anganwadi worker(AWW)from Rs.9000/- to Rs.12000/- per month and from Rs.6000/- to Rs.8000/- per month for Anganwadi Helper(AWH) with effect from 01.07.2023. The total enhanced honorarium will be implemented with an additional outlay of Rs. 11.45 Crore from UT budget.

Port Blair, July 17: On 17th July 2023, the SBI Chairman Shri Dinesh Khara inaugurated the renovated SBI Port Blair Branch and lounge virtually. Shri Dilkush Meena, IAS, Secretary Port Blair Municipal Council graced the occasion as special Guest. This is an initiative by the Bank for strengthening the relationship with the Government Departments.

Vehicle for Clearing of Septic Tank:-

Approximately around 4000 permanent shelters were constructed with bath room. Almost 15 years have passed and all the Septic Tanks are overflowing, especially during monsoon season posing serious health hazards of the community. Requested to permanently provide tank lorry to clean them at regular intervals.

Port Blair, July 17: The Pradesh Youth Congress with the support of State Youth Congress General Secretary Mr. Uday Raj held a joining programme wherein several youths from Beodnabad area joined Youth Congress under the chairmanship of its President Ms. Diksha Dular and Vice President Mr. Abhibhusan Ghosh.

The Programme was attended by the ANTCC President, Shri. Rangalal Halder to express solidarity and empower the youths at Andaman & Nicobar Islands.
