Port Blair, Mar. 28: The vaccination drive is continuing smoothly in A&N Islands. As per data available, a total of 6,09,840 beneficiaries in the age group of 18 and above have been vaccinated so far in A&N Islands. Similarly, 23,329beneficiaries have been vaccinated in the age group of 15 to 18yrs and 8134beneficiaries have been vaccinated in the age group of 12 to 14yrs. The number of beneficiaries administered precautionary dose of vaccine so far stood at 10019.

Port Blair, Mar. 28: During the RT-PCR test conducted on 246passengers who arrived here yesterday, no positive case has been detected. Today, 16 flights with 2774 passengers arrived, out of which, 2469 passengers were vaccinated with both doses while RT-PCR test was conducted on 250 passengers and the reports are awaited. 

Port Blair, March 27: Andaman Moplah Service Organization (AMSO) registered a historic event in the history of the Islands marking the 100th Year of Moplah existence in the A&N Islands with a Mega Cultural Rally that commenced from Chatham Island and concluding with befitting cultural extravaganza at the Cellular Jail. The event was conducted as a symbolic testimony of the deportation of the Moplah Freedom Fighters involved in the Khilafat movement across the Malabar area of Kerala from 1922 onwards. The first batch of prisoners reached the Islands via. SS Maharaja on 6th March 1922 and were imprisoned in the Cellular Jail. More mopalh convicts were brought in the course of time.

Andaman’s Lone MP Kuldeep Rai Sharma Conferred with Prestigious "Sansad Ratna Award 2022” for His Outstanding Performance in the Parliament

Port Blair, March 27: Shri Kuldeep Rai Sharma, Member of Parliament, Andaman & Nicobar Islands has been awarded the prestigious "Sansad Ratna Award 2022” in New Delhi on 26th of March 2022 along with other eight MPs for outstanding performance in the Parliament. The award was given by Hon’ble Chief Election Commissioner of India, Shri Sushil Chandra in presence of Hon’ble Minister of State, Parliamentary Affairs Minister, Shri Arjun Ram Meghwal.

Port Blair, March 27: The 11th Andaman & Nicobar State Conference of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) held at Atul Smrity Samity (Bengali Club), Port Blair today elected a 15-member State Organising Committee with Shri D. Ayyappan as Secretary. A 7-member State Secretariat was also elected in the Conference.  The Conference also elected Shri D. Ayyappan as Delegate from Andaman & Nicobar Islands to attend the 23rd Party Congress scheduled to be held at Kannur, Kerala from 6th to 10th April 2022.
