Port Blair, March 17: The Member of Parliament, Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma has requested the Lt. Governor, A&N Islands to put all Disaster Management Machineries and Officials on high alert and declare 19 and 21 March 2022 as holidays for all schools and colleges.

Port Blair, March 17: Heavy to very heavy rain (7-20 cm) very likely to occur at one or two places over Nicobar Islands on 18th March. Thunderstorms with lightning likely to occur at one or two places over Andaman & Nicobar Islands.

Port Blair, March 17: The commuters/general public are hereby informed that as per the special bulliten issued by India Meteorological Department, Port Blair low pressure area over central parts of South Bay of Bengal and it is likely to be intensified into a cyclonic storm by 21st March, 2022. Keeping in view the safety of the passengers and the vessel, the announced sailing programme may get disrupted leading to suspension or cancelation of the vessels in the Mainland Island/Foreshore/Inter Island Sector.
