Port Blair, Aug 14: Under the esteemed guidance of Hon'ble LG, A&NI, Admiral D K JOSHI, PVSM, AVSM, YSM, NM, VSM (Retd.), a team of women officers of Andaman & Nicobar Police comprising of Smt. Niharika Bhatt, IPS, SP (APU), Ms. Yogita Sharma, Dy SP/AP, Sub-Inspector Satywati, and Head Constable Anjana Mondal, under the leadership of Smt. Monika Bhardwaj, IPS, DIGP (L&O), paid a poignant tribute to the valor of soldiers on Tarapore Dweep. This tribute took place as a part of the “Meri Maati Mera Desh” campaign under “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav” initiative.

Port Blair, Aug 14: It is a matter of great honour and pride for A&N Police that four (04) of its officers have been conferred prestigious ‘President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service’ and ‘Police Medal for Meritorious Service’ for their illustrious and unblemished service on the occasion of 76th Independence Day, 2023. Apart from the above, 01 officer has been conferred with ‘Union Home Minister’s Medal for Excellence in Police Investigation-2023’ The awards were announced by the Ministry of Home Affairs on the eve of the Independence Day, 2023.

A&N Islands have an important role in the history of our freedom struggle. These Islands have been a direct witness to the struggles and sacrifices of the freedom fighters. This great festival inspires us to unite and participate in the progress of our Nation.

Port Blair, Aug 14: 'The AICF Chess for Everyone' All-India FIDE Rated Chess Tournament2023 is underway at TSG Grand Dollygunj and will be concluded tomorrow the 15th August 2023.
Two rounds, i.e.7th & 8th rounds were held today being the fourth day. Shri. Yesu Raj, Asst. Secretary (Perl) A & N Administration was the special guest for the day who made the first move against J S Virat from A & N islands to start the games of Seventh Round today morning amidst organisers, arbiters, and players.
