Port Blair, Aug 18: The Science Centre at Goodwill Estate, Corbyn’s Cove Road is organizing a ‘Bubble Show’ from 6.10 pm to 6.45 pm on Aug. 20. This is a fun filled show specially designed for all age group to enjoy with their kids. During the programme the demonstrator shall prepare varieties of bubbles right from tiny bubble to gaint bubble, Children’s most favorite Doraemon bubble to the cubic bubble caterpillar bubble, fire bubble & many more. The entry fee for the bubble show is Rs 10/- per head. There shall also be a Special 3D show at 5.30 pm & 6.10 pm. The entry fee for the Special 3D Show will be Rs 20/- per head.

Port Blair, Aug 17: It has been brought to the notice of the Administration of GB Pant Hospital that the patients admitted in the wards are being given sweets/fruits etc. by public and persons of eminence in the Islands for philanthropic reasons/charity/support to the hospital without bringing it to the notice of the management. 

The philanthropists and general public have been requested to refrain from donating food articles to the patients admitted in the hospital. This is extremely important to inform that GBPH being a referral hospital for the entire Islands, admits patients with various health conditions that need strict monitoring of diet. The kitchen of the hospital has a Dietician who plans the diet for each and every patient based on their health conditions. Any addition to this diet in the form of sweets/ fruits/any eatable not allowed in the patients’ diet can do more harm to the patients by delaying their process of recovery or even deteriorating their present health condition.

To mark the occasion, a ceremonial parade was conducted at Netaji Stadium, Port Blair, embodying the spirit of freedom and unity. The solemn proceedings commenced with wreath laying at the National Memorial situated within the revered Cellular Jail by Hon’ble Lt Governor, Admiral DK Joshi, PVSM, AVSM. YSM, NM, VSM (Retd).

Port Blair, Aug 17: Shri Kuldeep Rai Sharma, Member of Parliament, A&N Islands today held a meeting with the Director General of Police, A & N Islands, delving into two major issues related to the well-being of the police force in these Islands.

In the first issue discussed today, the Member of Parliament highlighted the Police Jawans' Posting Conditions at Border Look Out Posts (BLoPs) and voiced his concerns regarding the challenging working conditions faced by the police jawans stationed at the Border Look Out Posts (BLoPs) scattered across the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. He applauded the exceptional dedication and commitment exhibited by these brave men, who execute their duties diligently even under the harshest of circumstances.
