Offer Extended Pan India with Exception of Andaman & Nicobar Circles

There have been tempting offers for BSNL customers Pan India since the lockdown announced by the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi in March 2020. Unfortunately Andaman & Nicobar Islands is never considered as part of India when it comes to facilities extended by BSNL. The worst being the CANI project which has been put on hold for reasons known to the BSNL, A&N Islands Circle and the Andaman & Nicobar Administration.

Port Blair/ New Delhi, 20: The A&N Administration and the BSNL were all set to inaugurate the CANI project with the scheduled visit of the Hon’ble President of India in March. Things got delayed later and there were a series of ‘reasons’ floated by the concerned authorities about the delayed launch of CANI. On one occasion, the concerned announced that the project is pending the nod of DOT while on the other hand it was the CGM of BSNL, A&N Telecom Circle, who shamelessly announced that the users of BSNL may be experiencing 4G in the next six months.

Port Blair, May 26: Shri Kuldeep Rai Sharma, Member of Parliament, A&N Islands has requested the Hon’ble Lt. Governor, A&N Islands to consider to place the stranded inbound passengers coming from mainland via Air/Ships from 25th May, 2020 compulsory for “Home Quarantine” for 14 days as the UT Administration has revised the SOPs and have asked the passengers coming from Air to not to be quarantined at home.

Don’t Take it as Criticism Says Local Resident While Questioning Andaman Administration

Port Blair, May 24: A month after the last corona positive case was detected from the containment zone of Pema, Calicut, Teylerabad and adjoining areas, the containment operations though has been scaled down officially, but there seems to be no relief to the sufferings of the people inside. Mustering all courage, a young islander who is a resident of Pema in South Andaman has posed questions before the Hon’ble Prime Minister and others concerned including the Lt. Governor, Chief Secretary, Dy. Commissioner, South Andaman seeking clarifications.
