Port Blair, Oct. 5: The Andaman Association of Tour Operators (AATO) has suggested the A&N Administration to formulate testing/ quarantine rules for the incoming tourists, since Andaman has decided to re-commence tourism after a long gap.

In a letter to the Chief Secretary, the AATO President, M Vinod thanking the Administration for announcing the reopening of Andamans for tourism said that there are a few hiccups that are arising whilst figuring tourist arrival, their stay, transportation, test and quarantine. These are extraordinary times, which necessitate extraordinary measures but at the same time the tourist experience in Andamans must only be seamless. Their journey through Andamans must be streamlined to ensure there are no hassles on the way.

Port Blair, Oct. 5: The Pradesh Congress Committee, Andaman & Nicobar Islands following the directives of  AICC, New Delhi in regard to recent incident of rape and murder of a dalit girl belonging to Valmiki Community in Hathras district in Uttar Pradesh, organised a silent Satyagraha in front of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Statue, PBMC Auditorium complex at Port Blair today. The Sathyagraha was against the arbitrary and unconstitutional act of the Yogi Adityanath Government in UP and injustice done towards the 19 years old dalit victim gild and her family. 

Port Blair, Oct. 5: The State President BJP, Shri. Ajoy Bairagi today met the Director of Shipping Services, Andaman & Nicobar Administration and raised the issue of the crowding in the Passenger Ferries plying between Chatham and Bambooflat. Bairagi requested the Director of Shipping Services to depute an additional passenger ferry in the route. The Director of Shipping Services assured that a 150 pax passenger ferry will be deputed in the route from day after tomorrow for the convenience of the General Public.

Port Blair, Oct. 5: The recent weather forecast indicates a low pressure area is likely to develop over North Andaman sea and adjoining Eastcentral Bay of Bengal around 9th Oct 2020. It is likely to move north-westwards towards north Andhra Pradesh and Odisha Coasts with gradual intensification into a despression during subsequent 2-3 days.

Port Blair, Oct. 5: Shri. Ajoy Bairagi, Sate President, Bharatiya Janata Party is scheduled to visit Diglipur on 6th of October 2020 for official visit. He will be accompanied by Shri. Chitranjan Choudhary, General Secretary, Bharatiya Janata Kisan Morcha. Shri. Shivananda Bairagi, President, Bharatiya Janata Kisan Morcha, Andaman & Nicobar Islands will also join the dignitaries in Diglipur from Mayabunder.
