Port Blair, June 23: On the occasion of 10th International Day of Yoga 2024, an Exhibition- cum-Awareness Programme on Millets was organized by the AYUSH Wing of DHS at the Community Hall, Chouldari Village yesterday. Smti Tapasi Saha, Pardhan, Gram Panchayat Chouldhari was the chief guest on the occasion. She lauded the efforts of AYUSH Wing for organizing this awareness camp on Millets for the benefit of the general public. Smti Chetali, Samiti Member also stressed on the need for organizing such awareness camps on nutritional values of Millets.

Port Blair, June 23: On promulgation of Andaman & Nicobar Value Added Tax Regulation, 2017, the Andaman & Nicobar Value Added Tax Rules, 2020 framed for the implementation of Value Added Tax (VAT) in A & N Islands.

Accordingly, the Andaman & Nicobar Administration vide Notification No. 05/2022 dated 05th January, 2022 has designated Assistant Registrar of Cooperative Societies as Value Added Tax Officer (VATO), Inspector of Cooperative Societies as Assistant Value Added Tax Officer (AVATO) and Sub-Inspector of Cooperative Societies as Inspector of VAT respectively to carry out the assessment of VAT, computation and imposition of penalties, computation of interest due or owed, anti-tax evasion etc. under Value Added Tax Regulation, 2017 and the Value Added Tax Rules, 2020 in A & N Islands.

All the stakeholders like Government Institution, Public Sector Undertakings and Litigants/ Parties/ Interested persons who want to settle their disputes through Lok Adalat have been requested to approach Calcutta High Court Legal Services Committee Circuit Bench at Port Blair Andaman & Nicobar Islands or nearest District Legal Services Authority, Port Blair & Mayabunder and furnish the details of case(s). The parties can approach physically as well as virtually for special Pre-Lok Adalat sittings in the concerned Legal Services Institution.
