World AIDS Day observed on 1st December every year, gives us an opportunity to unite in the fight against Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV), show solidarity for the people living with HIV, and remember those who have lost their lives from HIV-related illness.

Port Blair, Nov. 30: World AIDS Day is observed on December 1 every year. It is a day of solidarity for people around the world who are affected by HIV. 'Equalize' is the theme to observe World AIDS Day 2022. To keep everyone safe, to protect everyone's health, we need to Equalize. To mark the day, a rally of school and college students will be held tomorrow (Dec.1) at 7.30 am from Netaji Stadium. More than 500 students are expected to take part in the rally. Shri Keshav Chandra, IAS, Chief Secretary, A&N Administration will be the chief guest and flag off the rally at 7.30 am from Netaji Stadium. Officials from Health and various Departments will also grace the occasion. The rally will pass through Clock Tower, Model School, Bengali Club, Co-operative Bank and culminate at Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Auditorium, PBMC.

Launches Potential Linked Credit Plan 2023-24 for A&N Islands

Port Blair, Nov. 30: NABARD Andaman & Nicobar Regional Office, Port Blair organized a UT level Credit Seminar today and launched the Potential Linked Credit Plan (PLP) 2023-24 for U T of Andaman & Nicobar Islands. Shri C Arvind, Secretary, Finance was the chief guest on the occasion. Shri Suman Bakshi, RM, SBI was the guest of honour.

Port Blair, Nov. 30: The birth anniversary of Sir J C Bose, a great Indian Scientist was celebrated by the Science Centre in its auditorium today.  On the occasion, life history & achievements made by Sir J C Bose was narrated to the participating students. An ‘Open House Quiz’ competition was organized for the school students in which  Mishba Shabbir of Sagaritara School, Prem Nagar, R. Raj Kumar of Ananda Marga Middle School , Junglighat , Naaz Hussian of Govt. Girls Sr. Sec. School & Kumar S. Vasanth Kumar of Govt. Model. Sr. Sec. School were adjudged as first, second, third & consolation prize winners respectively.
