Port Blair, Oct. 14: The prize distribution ceremony for various competitions organized as part of Hindi Pakhwada-2022 organized by the Official Language Department of A&N Administration was held at TGCE auditorium here today. The Chief Secretary, A&N Administration, Shri Keshav Chandra, IAS was the chief guest on the occasion.

Port Blair, Oct. 14: The President, Nicobar Youth Association has requested the A&N Administration for a similar policy like Union Territory of Ladakh Employment (Subordinate) Service Recruitment Rules, 2021 for the tribal people of Andaman & Nicobar Islands that leads to complete job reservation for all in Class III and Class IV jobs.

Rayhaan Pasha, President of Nicobar Youth Association had requested this to the Chief Secretary through an email Pasha believes that such employment reservations will catalyse rapid and significant growth of the tribal population by ensuring basic income for their families.

Port Blair, Oct. 14: CPR Environmental Education Centre organised a workshop cum exposure visit on Science & Technology communication of best practices and awareness raising on climate change & biodiversity conservation in Andaman & Nicobar Islands in association with the National Council for Science and Technology Communication, Department of Science and Technology, Government of India.

Port Blair, Oct. 14: The Department of Art & Culture, A&N Administration will be conducting befitting programmes to commemorate the anniversary of the establishment of Provisional Government of Azad Hind (PGI) in a week long programme from 17th to 23rd October 2022.  The aim of conducting these programmes is to create awareness among the general public especially among the young generation about the contribution of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose in the Indian Freedom struggle. 

Mayabunder, Oct. 14: A Revenue Camp Court with the motto ‘Jan Bhagidari-Ek Prayas’ under the Chairmanship of the Deputy Commissioner, N&MA was held yesterday at Panchayat Bhavan, Harinagar, N&M Andaman District to resolve the pending Revenue and other grievances of villagers of Harinagar, Swadesnagar & Basantipur Panchayats. The Assistant Commissioner (HQ), Tehsildar, Mayabunder, Pradhans, PRI members, officials of APWD & Revenue were present.
