Port Blair, March 4: On 29th Feb. 2024 a written complaint was received from Shri K. Dilly Raj, Deputy Manager, Megapode Resort wherein he mentioned that on 29th February 2024 at around 0800 hrs while on inspection of the resort area, he noticed that someone have entered the campus of Megapode resort and stolen the AC Unit Copper pipes lying outside the room from the following rooms i.e. Room No 128, Room No. 129. Earlier also the AC Unit Copper pipes of Room No. 131 & 132 was found stolen. The estimated cost of the above mentioned AC Unit Copper pipes amounts to approximately Rs. 40,000/-. He further requested to kindly look into the matter and take necessary action as the resort is the official caterer and VIP accommodation resort for all the state guests. He further mentioned that some unknown person has stolen the said items taking advantage of night time and requested immediate action.

Baratang, March 4: Division of Animal Sciences, ICAR-CIARI, Port Blair, along with ICAR-KVK, Nimbudera, conducted capacity-building programmes on goat farming under the AICRP on Goat Improvement at Nimbudera and Baratang from March 1 to 2, 2024. A total of 70 farmers attended the programme. Dr. P. Perumal, senior scientist, and Dr. R.R. Alyethodi, scientist and co-PI of the AICRP goat improvement project, briefed about the scientific interventions and technologies for improving the productivity of the Andamani goat.

Port Blair, Mar. 1: The Chief Secretary, A&N Administration, Shri Keshav Chandra, IAS, as the chief guest today laid the foundation stone for a Multipurpose/Assembly Hall at Vivekananda Kendra Zilla Parishad Vidyalaya at Port Mout to be constructed by Zilla Parishad South Andaman. Port Blair, March 1: Indian Coast Guard component at ANC, conducted an IMO Level-I course for various stakeholders responsible for Pollution Response Operation in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. The course was conducted by Coast Guard Pollution Response Team (A & N) from 26 Feb to 01 Mar 24 at Port Blair. The Indian Coast Guard (ICG), being the central coordinating agency for combating oil pollution in the maritime zones of India, conducts the course in line with the guidelines of OPRC convention 1992 to which India is a signatory. Accordingly, the IMO level courses are structured and conducted by the Indian Coast Guard to provide effective training to all stakeholders for coordinated response operations against any marine oil spills.
