DGP Devesh Chandra Honours 143 Officers and Personnel for their Exceptional and Distinguished Service

Port Blair, July 25: In a momentous event today, the Andaman and Nicobar Police held an investiture ceremony in which, the Chief Guest of the event, Shri Devesh Chandra Srivastva, DGP, Andaman and Nicobar Island honoured the exceptional dedication and distinguished service of 143 Officers and personnel, who have significantly contributed to the safety, security, and well-being of our community.

During the ceremony, the prestigious Ati-Utkrisht Seva Padak and the Utkrisht Seva Padak, instituted by the Ministry of Home Affairs, were awarded to 32 and 70 officers respectively, acknowledging their exemplary service performed with conspicuous devotion, skill, and courage over a continuous period.

Hut Bay, July 25: Shri Arjun Sharma, IAS, Deputy Commissioner (SA)/Chairman, District Health Society, and Shri Vinayak Chamidia, IAS, SDM (SA), inaugurated two significant health campaigns aimed at improving health outcomes across South Andaman District.

The Kuposhan Mukth District Abhiyan and Anemia Mukth District Abhiyan were officially launched at Ayushman Arogya Mandir/PHC, Hutbay, marking a pivotal step in addressing malnutrition and anemia among vulnerable populations.

Port Blair, July 25: The inaugural function of Basic Life Support (BLS) Providers Training Authorized by American Heart Association conducted in collaboration with TNAI (HQ) and TNAI A & N UT Branch was held yesterday at Govt. Sr. Sec. Girls School, Auditorium. The chief guest, Dr. Arpitha Saha, Additional Medical Superintendent, GB Pant Hospital, urged the participants to utilize the opportunity in upgrading their skills. The special guest, Dr. Narayan Rajaram, HoD (Anesthesiology) GB Pant Hospital motivated the Nurses to pursue BLS training which will be useful not only for the Nurses but also for the community.

Port Blair, July 25: NABARD Andaman & Nicobar Regional Office celebrated its 43rd Foundation Day yesterday in its office premises. This momentous occasion marked 43 years of commitment to promote sustainable and equitable agriculture and rural development through participative financial and non-financial interventions, innovations, technology and institutional development for securing prosperity.

Hut Bay, July 25: Shri Arjun Sharma, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman & Shri Vinayak Chamadia, IAS, Sub-Divisional Magistrate, South Andaman conducted camp court at Rabindranagar Gram Panchayat, Little Andaman Tehsil, on 25th July 2024. The PRIs members, Revenue Officials and officers from line department were present for redressal of grievances.

During the visit the PRI members highlighted various issues of the Panchayat such as electricity, repair and maintenance of roads, matters related to health, education, availability of quarry products etc. and requested to resolve the issues. The Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman gave a patient hearing to every issues raised in the camp court and assured redressal of the same after discussions at appropriate forum.
