The function will be held at Hotel Aparoopa, Ambience Goal Ghar from 11 am to 12 noon.

Port Blair, March 11: As part of FSSAI initiative of Eat Right India movement, the Food Safety Department organized a Food Licensing and Registration Mela at Ferrargunj Community Hall for the benefit of new Food Business operators of the locality. About 57 new Food business operators of the adjoining areas visited the mela. The main aim of the mela was to facilitate new FBOs in obtaining license/registration certificates through the online portal of FSSAI.

Electricity Act 2003 Has Provisions to Safeguard Employees: MOS Power
Port Blair, March 10: The Member of Parliament, Shri Kuldeep Rai Sharma had raised the issue of privatization of electricity department in the islands in the Lok Sabha. The MP had shared his concerns about the existing employees being affected due to the decision of the GOI and also concerns about reduced employment in government sector for the islanders.

Port Blair, March 10: Twenty-Two days after taking over as the new Director-General of Police, A&N Islands, Shri Satyendra K Garg, IPS in an interaction with the Editors of Daily Newspapers had said that his focus will be on improving the traffic management system, curbing the menace of bootlegging and drug peddling and bridging the gap between the general public and the islanders.
Two months down the line, the DG Police keeping up his promises has been successful in sending a strong message to the bootleggers, drug peddlers and the members of the general public who had the notion that it is their rights to drink and drive on roads.

Port Blair, March 10: The Government of India has decided to commemorate the 75th Anniversary of India’s Independence in a befitting manner at National and International level. The programmes for celebration shall begin 75 weeks prior to 15th August, 2022. The celebrations will be launched by the Prime Minister on 12th March, 2021 that marks the anniversary of the Dandi March. On this day, events related to ‘Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav’ will unfold in the country and the celebration will also be simultaneously launched in A&N Islands. To celebrate the events in A&N Islands, a UT level Apex Committee has been constituted under the chairmanship of the Chief Secretary, A&N Administration.
