SHG Members Acquainted with Various Livelihood Enhancement Opportunities

Port Blair, Jan 4: The Port Blair Municipal Council organised a meeting for Self Help Groups formed under DAY-NULM at Dr. B.R.Ambedkar Auditorium on the 4th January 2021. The purpose of the meeting was to acquaint SHG members with the various livelihood enhancement opportunities.

Port Blair, Jan 4: The new motor vehicles are being registered by the Transport Department as per Section 39 of Motor Vehicles Act 1988. It has been reported that in addition to the prescribed registration charges mentioned in the Central Motor Vehicles Rules, 1988, vehicle owners are being made to pay additional charges. Rule 81 of CMVR 1989 provides for registration charges for registration different class of new motor vehicles.

Port Blair, Jan 4: The Govt. of India, Ministry of Science & Technology is implementing two flagship schemes namely Women Scientists Scheme and DST-Young Scientists Fellowship Scheme. The Women Scientist Scheme has been introduced to give women a strong foot hold into the scientific profession and to encourage women in S&T domain, preferably those having a break in career and not having regular employment, to explore possibility of re-entry into the profession and research field. Any Women Scientist between the age of 27-57 years who had a break in their career but desired to return to mainstream can avail benefit out of this scheme. The scheme is open throughout the year, therefore there is no last date of application.

Port Blair, Jan 4: The Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment has launched a new scheme namely Dr. Ambedkar Centrally Sponsored Scheme of Post Matric Scholarship for Economically Backward Class student. The objective of the scheme is to provide financial assistance to the Economically Backward Class (EBC) students studying at post-matriculation or post-secondary stage to enable them to complete their education. These scholarships shall be available for studies in India only and will be awarded by the Government of State/ Union Territory to which the applicant actually belongs i.e. permanently settled.

Port Blair, Jan 4: The last date for filling-up the Examination forms for Term-End Examination for December- 2020 session of Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has been extended up to 07th January 2021 without late fee. Also the last date for submission of assignments and Projects is extended upto 15th January, 2021.
