He was 54 years. The Secretary has conveyed my heartfelt condolences to the family members of late TM Aboobacker.

The Member of Parliament, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma has deeply condoled the untimely demise of Shri. TM Aboobaker, 58 years, at Bengaluru today (15.09.2023). Mr. Aboobaker, a resident of Haddo Ward No.01 will be known for his social works and friendly nature.

Port Blair, Sept. 14: The Member of Parliament, Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma, has expressed profound sorrow over a tragic incident that unfolded in Sitapur village, Rangat region, on the night of September 13, 2023, at approximately 11:45 PM.
In a letter addressed to the Hon’ble Lt. Governor, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, he informed that during this unfortunate event, a tree fell onto a residence, resulting in the devastating loss of a 17-year-old child and causing injuries to other family members. The affected house, owned by Mr. Swapan Mandal, sustained significant damage, further compounded by adverse weather conditions.

It is with deep remorse to inform the untimely demise of our dear - TM Aboobacker (Backer Bhai) resident of Lillypur, Haddo. He has returned to the Almighty after having suffered a lethal stroke in Bangalore. Backer Bhai, as many of you know was a happy soul who was always ready to provide his help to the society. An Executive member of AIKMCC and an active member of AMSO, he has been always a rock support in organizing various programmes in the Islands.

Kolkata/Port Blair, Sept 14: Of late, the art lovers of Kolkata and many from places in and around the city had the opportunity of seeing a conglomeration of paintings and sculpture by a group of promising artists under the aegis of an organisation appropriately named 'Mangrove'. It was the Seventh Annual Painting – Sculpture Exhibition’ of this unique organisation held for a week at the ‘New South Gallery’ of the Academy of Fine Arts, Kolkata. Among the participants in the said exhibition were altogether 19 painters, sculptors and cartoonists. Mahananda Gomasta, a well-known artist, who carved out a niche for himself as a sculptor of great repute in Andaman and elsewhere also flew in to take part with his pieces of sculptures in this event.
