Port Blair, Aug 28: The Department of Industries is implementing a Centrally Sponsored Scheme christened ‘Prime Minister’s Formalization of Micro Food Processing Enterprise (PM FME)’ launched by the Ministry of Food Processing Industries, Govt. of India under Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyaan with the objective to strengthen backward/ forward linkages, common infrastructure, packaging, branding & marketing of products pertaining to micro food processing enterprises.

Port Blair, Aug 28: The ‘Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi’ (PM-KISAN) is a Central Sector Scheme launched by the GoI during the financial year 2018-19 to augment the income of the farmers. Under the Scheme, eligible farmer families receives financial benefit of Rs. 6000/- per year payable in 3 equal instalments of Rs. 2000/- each, every four months.

Port Blair, Aug 28: The five days Sri Ganesh Pooja will be held at Chinmaya Mission Port Blair from August 31 to September 4, 2022. The auspicious day of Ganesh Pooja on 31st August will begin at 8 am with Sri Ganapati Hoam, followed by Pooja. At 10 am Idols of Lord Ganapati and Pooja vidhi will be distributed to the devotees. The viserjan will be held on September 4, 2022 at 5.30 pm at Chatham.

Port Blair, Aug. 28: The vaccination drive is continuing smoothly in A&N Islands. As per data available, a total of 6,96,418 doses of vaccine have been administered to beneficiaries in the age group of 18 and above so far. Similarly, 23,944 beneficiaries have been vaccinated in the age group of 15 to 18 years. 28, 179 beneficiaries in the age group of 12 to 14 years have been administered both doses of vaccine. The number of beneficiaries administered precautionary dose of vaccine so far stood at 2,32,204.
