Port Blair, Jan 19: On the fourth day of Police Raising Week, a medical check-up camp was organized at 1000 hrs at Police Line for Police personnel and their families. Having good health is one of the pre-requisite to perform one’s duty efficiently. During COVID-19, police personnel performed duties on 24x7 basis, having impact on their physical and mental health. As many as 512 police personnel got infected with COVID-19 virus. Medical team of ANIIMS comprising of Orthopaedics, Community Medicine, Gynecologist, General Medicines and Psychiatrist conducted examination and rendered medical advice.

Port Blair, Jan 19: A Road Rally on the theme of “Road Safety” was organised today from PS Car Nicobar to Jayanthi junction as part of Raising Week Celebration. The students of Class XI to Class XII from GSSS Lapathy participated along with banners and placards to give the message of ‘Safe Drive’ and ‘Obey the traffic rules’ to the general public.

Port Blair, Jan 19: Army Component under the aegis of the only Tri-Services Command of India conducted a Military Band Display on evening of 18 Jan 2021 for school children and youth of Andaman and Nicobar Islands. As part of Golden Jubilee (50th anniversary) of 1971 War, rich tributes were paid to personnel of Army, Navy and Air Force who have served the nation and those who have sacrificed their lives fighting for the nation.

Port Blair, Jan 19: As part of the Police Raising Week celebrations, police personnel of Kadamtala and Diglipur organised a cleanliness drive in their areas. Around 40 police personnel participated in the activity. While in Diglipur, Kalipur beach was cleaned of plastics, in Kadamtala, the area of PHC and around was taken up for cleaning. In addition to that, an awareness programme on Road Safety and Traffic Rules was organised for auto and jeep drivers in Rangat.
