Port Blair, Oct. 6: Shri Nikhil Kumar, IAS, Commissioner-cum-Secretary (Statistics) released the publication of ‘Basic Statistics Handbook 2020-21’ of Andaman & Nicobar Islands in his chamber today in the presence of Shri Arjun Sharma, IAS, Secretary (Statistics) and Shri D.S.Clement Stephen, Director (Economics & Statistics) I/c alongwith the statistical team. The publication is very useful for Administrators, Planners, Stakeholders, Research Scholars, Policy Makers, Educationalists, Govt. Offices, other Organizations and public in general.

Port Blair, Oct. 6: The Department of Social Welfare has initiated a campaign to create awareness on ‘Ill Effects of Alcohol & Drug Abuse’ involving A&N Police, Health and Education Department. Accordingly, a tentative calendar of activities for students of class IX to XII of different schools has been finalized. The awareness campaign was initiated from Government Model Senior Secondary School, Port Blair today. More than 100 students including teachers and staff attended the programme.

Port Blair, Oct. 6: Submission of online application forms for admission to Two Years B.Ed. Degree Programme for the academic session 2022-23 in Tagore Government College of Education, Port Blair has commenced from 14th September 2022. Now, due to non-receipt of results by JNRM as informed by its Principal, the last date for submission of online application forms for admission to Two Years B.Ed. Degree Programme for the academic session 2022-23 has now been extended from 7th October to 30th October 2022.

MV Campbell Bay will sail for Campbell Bay via Nancowry on 08.10.2022 (Sat) at 1000 Hrs from Haddo Wharf and will sail for Port Blair on 10.10.2022 (Mon) at 0900 Hrs from Campbell Bay via Nancowry. Passenger Tickets for onward journey will be issued to the general public from 06.10.2022 (Thu) onwards at STARS Ticketing Counter, Phoenix Bay.

NOTE: Passengers travelling to Southern Group of Islands are required to get verified/endorsed their tickets from Covid Testing/ Verification Centers before boarding the vessel. Passenger will be not allowed to board the vessel in absence of verification/ or Negative RTPCR Test Report provided from the RTPCR testing Centre, Port Blair.
