Port Blair, March 26: The ANTCC Campaign Committee Chairman Mr. G Bhasker on Saturday met several contractual Afloat and Dockyard employees of DSS infront of Marine Dockyard Gate. The employees shared their grievances regarding regularization of jobs. The meeting was organized under the leadership of INTUC Working President Mr. K.P Usman and DSS Dockyard Employees Union President Mr. Ibrahim Kolakattil (Baba).

Port Blair, March 25:  The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has decided to allow residents to update documents in their Aadhaar online free of cost, a people-centric move that will benefit millions of residents. As part of Digital India Initiative, the UIDAI took the decision and is urging residents to get benefit of free document update facility on myAadhaar portal. The free service is available for the next three months i.e. 15th March 2023 to 14th June 2023.

Port Blair, March 25: ‘Up-scaling Aapda Mitra Scheme' is an approved scheme of Government of India which is being implemented by National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) in partnership with State/UT Governments and State Disaster Management Authorities. The scheme aims to provide community volunteers with the basic skills they will require for responding to their community's immediate needs during and in the aftermath of a disaster. These trained volunteers can assist in saving lives using the basic techniques of disaster response, coordination and management.

Port Blair, Mar. 25: Andaman & Nicobar Islands have a long coastline with fragile biosphere which is highly vulnerable to climate change events like rising sea levels and seawater ingress, natural disasters like earthquakes, cyclones and extreme climatic events. In order to minimize the impact of events occurring on account of climate change phenomena and to create awareness regarding climate change and consequent restorative techniques viz. mitigation and adaptation, especially among youngsters and students, a Walkathon was organized by NABARD on Saturday 25th March.
