Port Blair, May 19: The online nominations/recommendations for Padma Awards namely ‘Padma Vibhushan’, ‘Padma Bhushan’ and ‘Padma Shri’ has started from 1st May, 2023 and the last date for receiving nomination is 15th September, 2023. These awards are announced on the occasion of the Republic Day every year. The award seeks to recognize ‘Work of distinction’ and is given, for distinguished and exceptional achievements/service in all fields/disciplines, such as, Art, Literature & Education, Sports, Medicine, Social work, Science & Engineering, Public Affairs, Civil Service, Trade and Industry etc. All persons without distinction of race, occupation, position or sex are eligible for these Awards. A copy of the statutes and rules relating to these awards is available in MHA's web-site www.padmaawards.gov.in.

Port Blair, May 19: The online link for submission of the Examination form for Term-End Examination June, 2023 session of Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) is open now with late fee of Rs.1100 plus exam fee per paper Rs. 200/-. The desirous students may visit the Regional Centre, Port Blair to submit the on-line exam form.

Port Blair, May 19: Chinmaya Mission, Port Blair will be organising a Handicraft Training (on Coconut Shell, Bamboo and Waste Wood) at the Mission Premises. The training will be given by trained instructors. Boys and Girls (18 years and above) can join the training. The training period will be for 15 to 20 days.
