Port Blair, June 6: In a significant breakthrough, the Aberdeen Police has successfully apprehended two individuals involved in theft and recovered the stolen vehicles.

On May 31, 2023, a written complaint was received regarding the theft of a motorcycle with registration number AN01E-1094 (Yamaha Gladiator). The motorcycle was parked near the complainant's house in Prem Nagar on May 29, 2023, at 9:00 PM and was subsequently stolen. An FIR was registered under Section 379 IPC  vide FIR No.  143/2023 on May 31, 2023. The investigation was entrusted to SI P.K Jabbar of the Aberdeen Police Station.

Port Blair, June 6: Applications have been invited online for Common Combined Higher Secondary Level Recruitment from the eligible candidates to fill up the vacant Group ‘B (NG)’ and Group ’C’ Higher Secondary Level 489 posts in various Departments under A & N Administration/Boards/Corporation from those, who possess the required educational qualification of Senior Secondary School Education (XII) pass or equivalent from a recognized Board/ Institution. The process for receiving online application has started on 27.05.2023 at 11 am and the closing date is 16.06.2023 at 12 midnight.

Port Blair, June 6: As per Meteorological Department’s Weather Report, heavy rain (07-11 cm) is likely to occur at one or two places over Andaman & Nicobar Islands and thunderstorm with lightning accompanied with gusty wind (speed reaching 40-50 kmph) is also likely to occur at one or two places over A&N Islands on June 7, 8 & 9. Due to strong Southwest monsoon current, wind speed is likely to prevail between 40-50 kmph over Andaman Sea. Fishermen have been advised not to venture into the Sea till June 10.

Port Blair, June 6: In view of the maintenance of the Floating Jetty of North Bay, the Water Sports Activities will be stopped from June 14 to 25, 2023 for smooth repairing of the Floating Jetty to facilitate the tourists. Hence, all stakeholders associated with water sports activities have been requested to stop/divert the water sports activities on the above mentioned period. If required, they may divert the boats to NSCB Dweep or Viper Island to facilitate the tourists.

Port Blair, June 6: The Under Graduate Degree Certificates for the Batch 2017-18 of Mahatma Gandhi Govt. College, Mayabunder have been received from Pondicherry University. The students of the said Batch have been advised to collect their Degree Certificates from the Admission & Examination Wing of M G Govt. College, Mayabunder on all working days.
