Sri Vijaya Puram, March 26: Through diligent efforts and professionalism during investigation, the team of Police Station Aberdeen had arrested one person for theft of a Motor Cycle from Prem Nagar area. 

On 28/01/2025, a case has been reported at PS Aberdeen for theft of a Motor Cycle parked near to the complainant’s house at Prem Nagar. Upon this, a case under relevant section of law has been registered against unknown person and investigation was entrusted to Head Constable Shiv Nath of PS Aberdeen.

Sri Vijaya Puram, March 26: A comprehensive Earthquake and Fire Mock Drill was conducted at the Directorate of Health Services, A&N Administration, in compliance with the Chief Secretary’s directive for quarterly mock drills across all Departments. The exercise aimed to assess the Department’s disaster response readiness.

The mock drill scenario and activities were finalized during a Table Top Exercise held in the Conference Hall of the Directorate of Health Services. The session was chaired by Dr. Suja Antony, Director (Health Services), A&N Administration.

Sri Vijaya Puram, March 26: A Block Level Training Programme was conducted under the Rashtriya Gram Swaraj Abhiyan (RGSA) today at the Community Hall of Shyam Nagar Panchayat, Swaraj Dweep, focusing on building synergies between Self-Help Groups (SHGs) and Rural Panchayati Raj Institutions (RPIs) for community development and promoting progressive rural entrepreneurship strategies in livelihood generation.

Sri Vijaya Puram, March 26: The ICAR-Central Island Agricultural Research Institute, in collaboration with the Andaman Science Association, is set to host a one-day workshop titled “Harnessing the Potential of Agro-Ecotourism in the A & N Islands” at its Garacharma campus on March 27, 2025. Agro-ecotourism is an emerging field with the potential to boost farm income, invigorate and diversify the rural economy, and preserve cultural heritage. Ms. Pallavi Sarkar, IAS, Secretary of Agriculture & Animal Husbandry, has graciously accepted the role of Chief Guest for the event.

Sri Vijaya Puram, March 26: A two days HRD programme on Integrated Pest Management practices in vegetable crops was conducted by Central Integrated Pest Management Centre (CIPMC), Sri Vijaya Puram under the Union Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, GoI at Community Hall, Beodnabad Gram Panchayat, South Andaman, in which, 32 farmers, 4 State Agriculture Officials and 2 Gram Panchayat staff participated.
