Port Blair, Aug 4: Port Blair Municipal Council organized an orientation cum training programme on "Rainwater Harvesting" on Friday at Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Auditorium of PBMC. The inaugural function was attended by Shri Ashish Joon, Joint Secretary, Port Blair Municipal Council (PBMC) as chief guest. About 162 persons from citizens, NGOs, SHG Groups Women, PBMC and other officials were participated in the training programme.

Port Blair, Aug 4: Dr. Anadi Gayen, Regional Director of Central Ground Water Board, Eastern Region, Kolkata called on the Chief Secretary, A&N Administration, Shri Keshav Chandra, IAS, today and presented the report on 'National Compilation on Dynamic Ground Water Resources of India-2022'.

Port Blair, Aug 4: As per consent accorded by the Member of Parliament, A&N Islands for implementation of respective Village Development Plan (VDP) in the concerned SAGY Gram Panchayat of Harinagar, Bakultala & Radhanagar, a meeting of the District Level Committee (DLC) of SAGY, N&MA was held under the Chairpersonship of Deputy Commissioner, NYMA, Shri Ankit Yadav, IAS, on Aug 4, 2023 in the conference hall of DC’s office, Mayabunder with all the concerned members of District Level Committee (DLC), Saansad Adarsh Gram Yojana (SAGY), N&MA for finalization and approval of the draft VDP of the identified SAGY GPs of Harinagar, Bakultala & Radhanagar.

Port Blair, Aug 4: The District Election Officer, South Andaman, Andaman & Nicobar Administration, Smt. Veditha Reddy held a meeting with BLO supervisors, AERO and reviewed the ongoing house to house (H2H) enumeration by Booth Level Officers (BLOs) from 21.07.2023 to 21.08.2023 to verify the entries in the Electoral Roll and directed them to complete the process timely.

Port Blair, Aug 4: Andaman & Nicobar AIDS Control Society (ANACS) in co-ordination with Blood Center, G.B. Pant Hospital, Directorate of Health Services, supported Commodore Superintendent, Naval Ship Repair Yard, Port Blair to organize a blood donation camp at Galathea Hall, NSRY (PBR) today at 0900 hrs. As part of its Golden Jubilee celebration of NSRY (PBR), 70 units of blood were donated by the voluntary donors.
