Unit President, Uttara Grateful to A&N Administration

Port Blair, Nov. 18: The Unit President of Congress Party, Uttara (Kadamtala), Middle Andaman, Shri Prakash Mandal along with Shri Rangalall Halder, District President and overall instruction and supervision of Shri Kuldeep Rai Sharma, President, Pradesh Congress Committee and Member of Parliament, A&N Islands, has raised the following public important issues before the Sub-Divisional Magistrate-cum-Asst. Commissioner, Rangat Division for immediate resolution in the larger interest of the people of villages residing in Uttara, Kadamtala.

Port Blair, Nov. 18: In order to contain the further spread of the COVID-19 infection in the islands, the District Administration is conducting field surveillance to identify the COVID-19 suspects by engaging staffs of different departments such as ANMs, CHOs, ASHA workers, Anganwadi workers, Anganwadi helpers, Teachers, Revenue Dept. staff, Forest Dept. staff and APWD staff.

Special Team to Measure Noise Level at Religious Places

Port Blair, Nov. 17: In compliance of the directions of Hon’ble National Green Tribunal maintenance of ambient noise standards is a mandatory requirement under the law. The District Administration has come out with the notification in July 2019 in which the ambient air quality standard in respect of noise in different zone have been notified and also made available to the general public through print and electronic media.

Port Blair, Nov. 17: The District Administration has decided to impose restriction on celebration of Chhath Puja this year in South Andaman District in view of the COVID-19 pandemic situation.
