Port Blair, June 8: D. Ayyappan, Secretary, CPI (M) A & N State Organising Committee along with other party leaders and office bearers of Andaman Shopkeepers Association visited Mohanpura Municipal Shopping complex today (8th June, 2023) morning and met the shopkeepers who were affected by the flash flood on 7th June, 2023 following the incessant rain on 6th and 7th June, 2023. The shopkeepers in the Municipal Shopping Complex and Fruit Sellers opposite the STS Bus Terminus informed him that the rain water entered their shops and damaged goods and machineries. Many of them sustained loss of considerable amount.  They complained that one of the reasons for flooding the Mohanpura area was the failure of the PBMC to clean the drainages. 

Diglipur, June 8: Shri Kuldeep Rai Sharma, the Member of Parliament, Andaman & Nicobar Islands has expressed profound grief and sorrow over the unfortunate demise of young Master Deep Kirtonia, an eight-year-old child at Kishori Nagar. The tragic incident occurred today when a tree, uprooted by strong winds, fell on a jeep at Kishori Nagar, resulting in the untimely demise of Master Deep Kirtonia at around 11.45 AM.

Port Blair, June 8: On the occasion of Bhagwan Birsa Munda's Martyrdom Day, 09 June, Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma the Member of Parliament has paid his humble homage to the great Freedom Fighter and Tribal icon.

In a message he said that Bhagwan Birsa Munda, known as 'Jananayak', courageously fought for the independence of the country and the rights of indigenous tribal communities against the Britishers, advocating for Jal, Jangal, and Jameen.

Port Blair, June 8: In a bid to address the concerns of unemployed youths in Andaman and Nicobar Islands the Member of Parliament, Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma, has written a letter to the Chief Secretary of Andaman and Nicobar Administration, urging for provision of swimming lessons for aspiring candidates. The request was made after the Forest Department advertised certain job posts that require swimming skills as a mandatory qualification.

Port Blair, June 8: In a bid to promote eye health and raise awareness about the importance of regular eye check-ups, Humane Touch, in association with Eyecone Clinic, organized a free eye awareness and screening camp. The event was fully supported by the Pradhan Gram Panchayat Wimberly Gunj and Kanyapuram. The camp aimed to provide accessible eye care services to the local community and educate them about the significance of maintaining good eye health.
