Port Blair, Dec. 6: The Member of Parliament, Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma called on the Hon’ble Lt. Governor of Andaman & Nicobar Islands yesterday and raised several issues. Among other issues, the Member of Parliament requested the Hon’ble Lt. Governor to reduce the duration of posting for all government servants, irrespective of any department to only one year for the entire Nicobar District.

Port Blair, Dec. 6: Mr. Vishal Jolly, National Executive Member BJP has written a letter Hon’ble Union Minister for Road Transport & Highways, Government of India, Shri Nitin Gadkari regarding the extremely pathetic condition of NH-4 in North & Middle Andaman District.

Mr. Vishal Jolly in his letter said that the unprecedented infrastructural development has taken place throughout our Country under the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways, Government of India. The National Highways & the Bridges that are being constructed is of international standards and the same are playing crucial role in building a #NewIndia.

Diglipur, Dec. 6: The district police of North & Middle Andaman have been conducting intensive jungle search and combing operations to crackdown on manufacturing of illicit Liquor. Adding to the spree of crackdown on illicit liquor manufacturing in the district, Police team headed by SI Sushanto Debnat, I/c OP Betapur and ASI Muchray Munda alongwith Police/IRBn officials conducted jungle search at Gobindapur and Prafullo Nagar area.

CPI(M) Secretary Demands Filling up of Vacant Posts on Priority

Port Blair, Dec. 6: CPI (M) has re-iterated its demand for filling up of all vacant posts of teachers and Heads of Schools under the Education Department. In a letter sent to the Lt. Governor, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Shri D. Ayyappan, Secretary, CPI (M) A&N State Organising Committee while referring to his earlier letter of 30th June 2022, also addressed to the Lt. Governor said that that despite elapse of more than 5 months, there seems to be no positive action on the part of the A&N Administration to fill up the vacancies of teachers and Heads of Schools under the Directorate of Education.

Port Blair, Dec. 6: It is noticed that commuters are facing hardship in moving from Dairy Farm Junction to Airport Entry gate due to heavy traffic congestion especially by the vehicles entering/exiting Airport. To ease out the traffic congestion, A & N traffic Police has decided on Pilot basis the diversion of vehicles from Airport Entry/Exit gate from 09/12/2022 (Friday).

Vehicles intending to approach VSI Airport from School Line shall not take ‘RIGHT TURN’ at the Airport Entry gate instead they shall proceed towards Dairy Farm Junction & then after taking ‘U’ turn will proceed towards Airport entry gate.
